Methi Thepla

I remember this when I used to go to my friend’s house in Ahmedabad. Our Gujurati friend’s family used to make this particular dish Thepla. Thepla is like paratha it’s made of wheat flour oil and spices. Like Haldi powder and chili powder. You can eat them with Aam ka achar, you can add millet flower if you want.

  • 11/2 cup of Atta
  • ¼ cup of millet flour if needed
  • 5 spoon chick pea flour
  • 1 cup of Methi leaves finely chopped
  • 1 spoon ginger garlic paste
  • 1 green chili finely chopped
  • Salt and red chili powder as needed
  • 4 spoon curd
  • 1 spoon oil add on dough
  • 2 spoon oil for frying in Tawa

Drain the methi leaves after washing and finely chop them. Add all ingredients in a bowl except oil to the mixing bowl. Sprinkle bit of water just as needed and knead to soft non sticky dough. Keep it covered for 20 minutes.
Make thepla now with dough like making the paratha
Cook on a medium heat until half cooked on the bottom then flip it and cook until golden spots appear on both the sides.
Serve the thepla with curd or Aam Ka Achar
